My Story

It’s no secret that I come from humble beginnings. In fact, I’m proud of where I come from. 

I was resistant to authority, dropped out of school and worked in a factory for years just trying to make ends meet. 

It wasn’t until I discovered Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and Brian Tracey that I even considered my life could amount to more than 12-hour shifts working for scraps.

Fortunately for me, I’ve never been afraid of hard work. Through grit, risk-taking and a humble willingness to learn, I’ve managed to go from a sales job cold-calling strangers to founding one of the most successful Marketing Agencies in the UK. From a nobody, to close to 2-million video views across Social Media.

And now I’m here to show you that you can do the same.

My Story

It’s no secret that I come from humble beginnings.

School wasn’t for me and I didn’t get on well with authority. I mean, it’s no surprise that I dropped out of school and found myself working a bunch of different manual labour jobs to make money however I could.

At 19, my first kid was born. At that point, I was working every hour of the day, every overtime shift I could just to make ends meet.

Then I discovered Tony Robbins, the godfather of Personal Development. I started to realise that a kid like me with no qualifications, was capable of anything. I was hooked.

But working 12-hour shifts at the factory and raising a young family didn’t leave me with any spare time to pursue this new avenue. I wasn’t prepared to sacrifice any more time away from my family. I had to get creative.

The factory was a loud place and had a strict policy about wearing ear defenders with blue and orange wires. You’d get into serious trouble if you were caught without them.

But I was desperate to fill my head with the good stuff, so I wasn’t about to let this stop me.

A bit of blue and orange paint later, and my iPod was perfectly disguised.  Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn and Brian Tracey became my new teachers.

 

My dreams got bigger.

My goal was to earn decent money without having to sacrifice time with my family. I wanted to be more than society was telling me I could be.

In every book I read, the recurring lesson was always that the most important business skill you can learn is how to sell.

And so that’s where I decided to start. I found an advert for a sales job in London cold calling people for a 12k basic yearly salary.

Everyone around me was freaking out. They thought I was crazy, sacrificing everything I had for a job I’d never done before. My grandparents cried. My boss tried to talk me out of it.

But I was determined. I got the job.

Within 1 month of working there, I was the top sales guy at the company.

Within 4 months, I was responsible for training everyone else how to do it. My dedication to learning had paid off and I fell in love with selling.

I overheard that the company were paying £30 to get each and every one of the phone numbers I was being given.

£30 (!) for what were, frankly, shit leads.

This seed then sparked my journey down the rabbit hole of Internet Marketing. Hours and hours of research later, I convinced the guys running the company to let me test out some of the things I was learning with a tiny budget.

The effect was immediate, and before I knew it, I was running their marketing.

This knowledge and experience opened doors.

After the birth of my second child, I knew I wanted to be closer to home.  As luck/fate/chance would have it, the perfect opportunity came along to become a Marketing Manager for Andy Harrington, a well-known UK Personal Development Coach and Public Speaker.

This exposure and the success of running all of his marketing proved to me that I could do this for the rest of my life.

People started to take notice and I was always being approached by other business owners looking for help.

And so, Einstein Marketer was born.

Whilst we were running very successful campaigns for our clients, my own experience had shown me that you didn’t need to be born with special talents to get results with marketing.

You also didn’t need a huge budget and paying an agency was often inaccessible for a lot of smaller businesses.

The thing is, most businesses can efficiently run their own marketing campaigns without the need to hire an agency. They just need to be prepared to learn.

And so at the beginning of 2018 we started a blog. By November 2019, we were getting over 35,000 organic visitors to the website every month and Einstein Marketer is going from strength to strength.

While I could blow you away with big numbers and crazy statistics, the reality is I am living proof that you can achieve whatever you want if you’re willing to work hard. If you’re willing to push through comfort zones and break down barriers.

My personal mission is to show you that my story doesn’t have to be unique.

I am a huge believer in that it doesn’t matter where you come from to choose where you end up.

You don’t have to be some shiny, well-spoken, educated ‘guru’ to be successful.

You just need to want it badly enough.
